At 40mm, there’s plenty of it to enjoy. Framing it is a softly squared buckle with gently rippled, irregular sides, as if shaped by hand, finished in shiny gunmetal. That finish is the differentiator: rather than adding warmth, the polished gunmetal picks up the deepest, darkest notes in the iron and reflects them back, giving the whole belt a sleek, moody edge. The open frame lets the croc show right through, and the slight unevenness of its shape stops it ever feeling too polished. Dark, glossy and quietly dramatic.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIron has all the warmth of brown, but with a sheen and depth that take it somewhere far more interesting. At 40mm, it’s made for smart casual dressing, and it works well for both men and women. I’d wear it with black jeans, a charcoal roll-neck and a dark overcoat, or with dark denim and a chocolate suede jacket. It looks great with black, charcoal, navy and cream. On her, it’s brilliant slung through dark jeans with a black knit and boots, or worn with a long camel coat.
