It has the warmth of a well-worn leather armchair, the depth of a good whisky held up to the light, and the kind of easy, mellow confidence that makes it feel like an old friend from the very first wear.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe leather is a mock croc with a metallic sheen in a colour we call iron, a deep, warm brown that glows bronze across the raised scales and sinks into rich, smoky shadow in the grooves between them. Subtle from across the room, endlessly intriguing up close, and at 40mm there’s plenty of it to enjoy. To keep the focus firmly on that colour, I chose a simple, softly squared buckle that tapers gently at the front, finished in matte gunmetal. The finish is what makes it. Rather than flashing bright against the leather, the matte gunmetal settles quietly into the darker tones of the strap, so buckle and leather blend into one soft, tonal whole. Mellow, understated and quietly luxurious.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIron has all the warmth of brown but with an added sheen and depth that make it far more interesting to wear. At 40mm it’s made for smart casual dressing, and it works well for both men and women. I’d wear it with dark denim, a camel crewneck and brown suede boots, or with olive chinos, a cream knit and a navy overcoat. It’s lovely with cream, camel, olive, navy and rich autumn shades. On her, it’s gorgeous slung through relaxed jeans with an oversized cream knit, or at the waist of a camel coat. Pour yourself something good and settle in.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eNot only is the upper leather full grain quality, the lining is too.
