Think weathered cliffs and ancient rock faces, worn smooth in places and rough in others, given a sleek, modern twist. Rugged, but polished. Timeless, but very much of now.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eThe leather is a mock croc with a metallic sheen in a colour we call iron, a deep, warm brown that glows bronze across the raised scales and settles into rich, smoky shadow in the grooves between them. At 40mm there’s plenty of it to admire. Fastening it is our rock-textured plate buckle in antique brass, a solid rectangular plaque sculpted with deep fissures, ridges and craggy surfaces, so it feels almost like a piece of landscape held in the hand. The raised areas are burnished to a warm gold while the recesses fall into dark shadow, giving it a wonderful three-dimensional quality. Against the croc, the two textures seem to flow into one another, scale into stone, and the metallic sheen of the leather keeps the whole look contemporary rather than rustic.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eIron has all the warmth of brown, with an added sheen and depth that make it much more interesting to wear. At 40mm it’s made for smart casual dressing, and it works well for both men and women. I’d wear it with dark indigo jeans, a cream cable knit and a waxed jacket, or with olive chinos and a chambray shirt. It’s great with camel, cream, olive, navy and rust. On her, it’s lovely slung through relaxed jeans with a chunky knit and boots, or at the waist of a long camel coat.
