It has a bit of grit and a lot of character, and it’s named after Humphrey Bogart, a man who knew how to wear a coat with the collar turned up better than anyone.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe strap is made in our Adria leather, a soft pebble grain with a gently mottled surface that’s supple from the very first wear, in a bold grass green finished along each edge with a twin-stitched welt. It’s a confident colour, and it’s matched by a buckle with real weight behind it: a solid rectangular frame in antique brass, wrapped all the way round in tightly coiled wire. The darkened recesses between the coils give it a raw, hand-forged quality, as if it’s just come off a blacksmith’s bench, while the raised wire catches the light in warm, golden ridges. Against the bright green, that rugged, burnished brass grounds the whole belt and gives it a more masculine edge. It’s earthy, tactile and built to be worn hard.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAt 40mm, this is a belt for smart casual dressing, and it’s perfect for autumn layering. I’d wear it with dark indigo jeans, a cream cable knit and a waxed jacket, or with olive chinos, a brushed cotton check shirt and suede boots. Green is a brilliant partner for all those autumn tones, from camel, chocolate and rust to navy and grey, and it brings a welcome shot of life to an otherwise earthy palette. It works well for women too, slung through relaxed jeans with a chunky roll-neck and a long camel coat.
