It started with a simple observation: the quills on ostrich are, in their own way, a pattern of little dots. What if the buckle could echo that? The result is a belt where leather and metal seem to have a quiet conversation with each other, and a piece that turns heads without ever needing to try too hard.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe strap is genuine ostrich in a soft, dusky navy, a blue with a subtle hint of grey that gives it real depth and makes it far easier to wear than you might imagine. Its quills rise gently from the hide in a slightly deeper tone, each one catching a little more light than the smoother, more matt leather around it. They’re scattered naturally across the strap, so yours will be entirely unique. Ostrich has always been timeless, and in this colour it feels both classic and wonderfully fresh.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThen there’s the buckle, our new sculpted swirl. It’s a free-flowing, open form in satin silver that ripples and curves as though it has been shaped by water, with the blue of the ostrich showing through the centre. Set into its surface is a smattering of Swarovski crystals in smoky blues and greys, finished at each end with a single teardrop crystal. Those little points of sparkle pick up on the quills beautifully, dot for dot, so the whole belt feels designed as one. It’s sculptural, feminine and completely its own.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis is the belt I’d reach for when you want one piece to do all the work. In the evening, wear it at the waist of a simple black or navy dress, or with silk trousers and a fine knit, and let the crystals catch the candlelight. By day it’s just as lovely dressed down, threaded through white jeans with a cream cashmere jumper, or over an oversized chambray shirt with wide-leg trousers. It’s wonderful with grey, cream, soft pink and silver jewellery, and that dusky blue is a far more interesting choice than black. Be warned, though: the men in your life may well try to borrow it.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt’s lined in soft nubuck, so it feels every bit as lovely as it looks.
