Dark olive and moss greens give it depth, while flashes of gold and hints of teal shimmer through the paler areas, so the strap glints like sunlight through a forest canopy, which makes it the perfect hiding place for our serpent. The buckle is the snake itself, cast in antique gold: its body forms the curved frame, its head stretching along the top while its tail wraps down and around the strap below. Every inch is covered in finely worked scales, from bold, rounded ones along its back to tiny, delicate ones on its belly, with the darker recesses giving them real depth. Texture on texture, scales on scales: buckle and leather blend together so naturally that the snake almost disappears into its surroundings, until it doesn’t.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eForest green is a wonderfully rich colour to wear, and it’s far more versatile than you might expect. It looks superb with navy, camel, cream, chocolate and black. It works well for both men and women. I’d wear it with dark denim, a black roll-neck and a leather jacket, or with charcoal trousers and a cream cable knit. On her, it’s fantastic slung through relaxed jeans with a silk shirt and boots, or at the waist of a long camel coat. Those who notice it will love it.
