When I set out to design the Wilder belt, I wanted to create something that brings joy and energy to your look without shouting about it - a belt that adds personality through thoughtful detail rather than obvious statement-making. It's named after Gene Wilder, and I think it captures that same spirit of playful sophistication he embodied so well. For this version, we've crafted the belt from a beautiful hand-burnished navy leather that has real depth and richness. The burnishing process brings out those natural variations in tone - darker in some areas, lighter in others - giving each belt its own unique patina from the start. Navy is such a versatile colour, working as a sophisticated neutral that pairs with virtually everything in your wardrobe, yet it feels more interesting and considered than basic black or brown. The key to this design is in the perforation detail. We've worked tiny holes across the entire surface of the belt, creating this subtle texture and visual interest. But here's where it gets really smart - we've backed those perforations with a steel grey contrast that peeks through, adding this sophisticated tonal play that's refined without being obvious. It's just enough to catch the eye and add depth, giving the belt a cool, contemporary feel. We've also used contrast stitching along the edges that really stands out against the navy leather, adding another layer of crafted detail that shows the care we've put into every element.I've paired this with a solid brass buckle in a matt gunmetal finish, and I absolutely love how this combination works. The gunmetal perfectly picks up on that steel grey tone in the perforations, creating this cohesive colour story that feels really thoughtful and intentional. The matt finish gives it a modern, understated quality - there's no shine or flash, just beautiful, considered design. It's substantial and impeccably made, the kind of hardware that adds weight and quality to the piece. This is a belt I'm particularly proud of because the colour combination is so versatile and wearable. The navy and steel grey pairing works brilliantly with grey trousers or chinos - it creates this tonal harmony that's sophisticated and put-together. It's equally perfect with navy pieces, adding subtle texture without breaking up the silhouette. And with denim? It's absolutely ideal - whether you're wearing dark indigo or lighter washes, this belt just works. Thread it through grey flannel trousers with a navy blazer for smart occasions, pair it with
