Hard as we try to imitate this with normal leather the depth of colour, unique scale like texture and the supple feel is something truly special and unique. Of course, as a luxury product it also benefits from being coloured and painted entirely by hand, a process which epitomizes all that is wonderful about an artisanally crafted product like this where the focus is on the end result rather than the time taken to achieve it. This particular belt benefits from a 2 tone, almost holographic finish, with anthracite and grey tones dominant but a pale blue iridescence that touches the edges of each scale. We have indulged ourselves on this occasion by pairing the belt with this stunning One-Off hand crafted sterling silver buckle - a sculptural hexagonal form with its smooth and textured surface that alludes to the onyx drusy stone that sits proudly in the centre. This buckle was made by our long time collaborator Franciska Gallo and in its own right is a collectors piece.
