Description

Here at Elliot Rhodes we are always trying to experiment with new materials and textures in an effort to push buckle design into new territory. Hence the introduction of this new collection of shell encrusted buckles. Each one of these is made entirely by hand with the shell being inlayed by hand, either in complete pieces or with multiple tiny fragments, with great care and precision. This particular Turtle style has been made with Black Tab Shell with its wonderful pearlized tones and smooth surface texture. The smooth finish and tortoiseshell colouring contrasts beautifully with the etched detail of the metalwork. This is a truly special piece that will catch the eye whenever it is worn and above all it will always bring a smile to your face, making you dream of the Galapagos or far away oceans...

How it's made
Buckle making remains a remarkably traditional skill with most of our designs initially crafted by hand in wax before being melted away to create a mould from which we can cast your buckle. Once cast the buckle is then sent away for the galvanic process which gives it its colour and then any additional details such as enamel or crystals are applied by hand. Whether being made in Italy, France, Mexico, USA or the UK the techniques used remain the same.

Delivery

Orders made by midday BST will be despatched the same working day. Orders placed after this time will be dispatched on the next working day.

Orders are dispatched Monday to Friday (with the exception of Public Holidays) and delivered on working days.
