This buckle design comes from a new collaboration with Native American jewellery craftsman Pat Pruitt. As a craftsman he is specialised in working in specialist metals that bring a sleek, modern, space-age feel to buckle design. This particular buckle with its sleek, gently cambered rectangular shape is made from dark grey toned Zirconium (see more below) and has a distinctive Carbon Fibre insert (made up of at least 4-5 layers of ultra fine carbon fibre sheet) that brings a contemporary aesthetic that is fresh & innovative. This is very much a Limited Edition Buckle for the connoisseur. You could wear this on smart denim or dress it up for eveningwear, it will look sleek and always be eye-catching. Being crafted from Zirconium this buckle benefit from being ultra light weight but unbelievably strong. Its strength to density ratio is very similar to Titanium so is used in much the same way for medical & Hi-tech applications. Zirconium is technically more durable than Titanium but we are splitting hairs a bit; both metals are lightweight and strong enough that you generally don’t need to worry about significant dings or dents. Both metals are also scratch-resistant and hypoallergenic. Zirconium comes naturally in a silver gray tone but with heat this sleek matte dark grey tone occurs through oxidization so if you are deciding between this and the Titanium version that may be the differentiator for you!
