Here at Elliot Rhodes we are always trying to experiment with new materials and textures in an effort to push buckle design into new territory. Hence the introduction of this new collection of shell encrusted buckles. Each one of these is made entirely by hand with the shell being inlayed by hand, either in complete pieces or with multiple tiny fragments, with great care and precision. This particular style comes in an intriguing hump back plate style with its flowing, fluid form and surface embedded with cracked hammer shell. The texture is intriguing and gives a wonderful variety of tones that makes this buckle incredibly versatile to wear. All in all this makes for a stunning buckle that is both sleek, tactile and at the same time wonderfully natural and original - no two pieces will ever be alike! I think you can use this buckle casually but I would love to see this worn for a smarter casual occasion (a night out?) on a belt with a little sheen that will make a very stylish statement. There will be a lovely gleam that reflects off the polished shell surface. A striking buckle! *Please note that shell is a natural product so some colour variances may occur*
