Embossing Information

We are pleased to be able to offer an embossing service so that you can personalise your belts or accessories. Having your initials discreetly embossed adds a classy finishing touch and of course if you are buying something as a gift then adding initials is really lovely detail.

So...a few things to know about our embossing service :

What can I emboss?

You are able to emboss up to 3 initials without spaces/punctuation. For the moment we cannot emboss numbers or dates but hope to be able to offer this service soon.

Font type / Size

Our letters are UPPERCASE in Times New Roman font - the font is 6mm high

What items can I emboss?

Any belt and most accessories can be embossed subject to space. We can emboss on both plain or textured leather (so either on the inside or outside) but please bear in mind that if we emboss on textured leather there is a chance that you will see small breakage lines in the foil due to the uneven nature of the surface.

What positions can I have my items embossed in?

Belts can be embossed in 2 different positions, either towards the tip end of the belt or close to the buckle end. The Initials can be embossed in either landscape or portrait orientation. All of these options will be offered when adding personalisation to your cart. By default we emboss on the INSIDE of belts. If you would like us to emboss on the OUTSIDE please let us know this in the customer comment section and we will do our best to accommodate dependent on leather type)

For accessories due to the variety of permutations we have to use our best judgement as to where to place the emboss. When adding personalisation to your cart you will have the option to select to have the embossing either inside or outside. Our embossing specialist will then use his discretion to select the best location for embossing.

We offer a standard price of £15 for up to 3 letters.

How long will this take?

If you choose to have initials added to one of your purchases please allow 7 days from the date of order for the item to be ready for shipment. 

Exchange/Refund/Returns

Once an item is personalised it unfortunately cannot be exchanged or refunded. We can of course still shorten any belt style that is too large.

Description

Jazz was never about playing it safe. The best performers of the era — and Al Jolson, the singer this style is named for, was one of the biggest stars of his day — understood that the magic happens off the page, in the note you didn't expect, the pause that shouldn't work but does. I think about belt design the same way. You could make a strap that's entirely smooth, or entirely textured, and either would be perfectly fine. But fine was never really the point. So this style does the unscripted thing instead: cordovan leather, smooth and sleek on either side, with a central dadino textured wave running straight through the middle like an improvised line breaking through a steady rhythm. In this navy tone, a contrast blue stitch traces the wave and picks out the texture even more clearly, giving the whole belt a lovely sense of movement. We've paired it with a satin silver buckle this time — smooth rather than textured, with a gentle kink running through its silhouette rather than a straight edge. It's a quieter kind of match than usual, but no less considered: that soft curve echoes the wavy edges of the dadino overlay running through the strap, so the buckle picks up the belt's rhythm through shape rather than surface detail. Not only is the upper leather full grain quality, the lining is too, so that same integrity runs all the way through the belt rather than stopping at the surface. Every belt is still handcrafted in our small Spanish atelier, where a small team takes the time needed to get these details right rather than rushing them. All in all, a belt to be worn to spice up a classic suit or for smarter casual and eveningwear, also a lovely companion to linen in summer — definitely one that will stand you out from the crowd.

Exactly what was promised

I ordered 2 of these, black and brown, with 3 buckles, gold, silver and one rather ornate one. the order arrived and i now have a complete "arsenal" of belts and buckles to fit every outfit. the leather is silky smooth and soft, exactly as promised, both lining and outer are full grain. being my first full grain belts i am excited to see how they develop in time!

I have a total of 6 belts from ER and I love each of them. 3 are beautifully designed original Alligator belts in distinct colours like Blue, Red and Yellow. For each I selected unique buckles and I just love them.
