When I designed this piece, I wanted to bring a sharper, more rebellious edge to one of our cleanest and most versatile straps. The matte black python leather already has presence — it’s all about tone, texture and attitude — but this time I wanted the buckle to add just a touch of menace.
The leather itself is finished in a cool matte black, allowing the natural texture of the python scales to do all the work. Python has this incredible three-dimensional surface — every scale slightly different, catching light in subtle ways, creating depth even in a single tone. It's smooth, yet wild. Minimal, yet full of character.
The buckle is where this design really comes alive. I used a coiled snake motif that wraps around the prong, creating a dynamic, sculptural shape that feels like it's ready to strike. The level of detailing is one of my favourite parts — from the etched scales to the defined eyes and tapered tail, there's a lifelike energy to the whole piece. It’s cast in a aged silver finish that bounces crisply off the black leather.
This belt is made for days when you want to lean into something edgier. Pair it with black jeans and a T-shirt for a gritty, lived-in look, or use it to bring some personality to tailoring — a black blazer, slim trousers, maybe a boot. It’s not for everyone — but if it’s for you, you’ll know the moment you put it on.
