If you are looking for a belt that is sleek but different then this Hancock design with its sleek flattened C design buckle is one to pay attention to. Creating a belt design that is classy and elegant yet at the same time has its own distinctive character is always an interesting challenge. There is a delicate balance to be struck between detail that enhances and detail that distracts. So back in 2016 when we came up with our 'Hancock' style, named after ground-breaking jazz artist Herbie Hancock, we were inspired to keep things minimal with just a hint of contemporary style to show that sense of individuality. This new version of Hancock takes all of the great elements of its predecessor but evolves with the scotch grain texture of the leather. This leather adds a weight and solidity to the belt with a hint more 'sportiness' . Even though it is black it is still hand burnished which leaves us with a mix of matt & shiny leather and then under the surface there are the sleek S shaped ridges which we are highlighted with their own stitch detail. These ridges repeat along the strap every 25cms and once the belt is hand polished show a little extra tonal contrast to subtly add extra life to the belt. We have opted to give this belt a contemporary look by adding this very cool flat C design buckle - with its linear form, stainless steel construction, bevelled edges and open side it really is a buckle that looks and feels different whilst all the time being sleek and stylish. The thick smooth lines in their highly polished finish contrast against the scotch grain texture of the leather giving you a sleek style that has a crisp, contemporary feel to it. This belt would work for smart as well as smart casual occasions - great for a contemporary suit, smart trousers or denim.
