This piece is one of those playful experiments that just worked — and I love when that happens. I wanted to take the refined texture of this metallic-dyed ostrich leather and pair it with a buckle that was sculptural, fun and just the right amount of fierce. Enter: the glitter-enamel leopard.
The strap itself has a striking silvered black finish, hand-treated to bring out both the texture and natural pattern of the ostrich quills. It’s a little distressed, a little polished — a surface full of character and contrast. There’s already so much going on in the leather that I knew the buckle needed to match in energy but not compete for attention.
So I chose this beautifully cast leopard design, complete with glitter enamel spots that pick up the same speckled rhythm as the ostrich quills. The buckle almost looks camouflaged until you really notice it — then you can’t stop looking. It’s sleek, a little wild, and has this flowing motion that feels totally alive. The way the enamel glints against the metallic leather brings everything together.
